Dancer, Choreographer

Carolina has been a member of the groundbreaking company Tango Con*Fusión since 2006. As a company member, she collaborates in choreographing original work. With Tango Con*Fusión Carolina teaches and performs broadly in the San Francisco Bay Area and at major venues internationally.

Carolina, originally from Argentina, has been teaching dance for three decades in Buenos Aires, New York and San Francisco. She currently teaches private tango lessons in SF and regular group classes with Christy Cote at La Pista Tango School, where they also host a weekly Práctica.

"Malena"

Presented at City College of San Francisco, in November 2013, celebrating Tango Con*Fusión's 10th anniversary.

In this piece I explore the relation of a woman with tango. As she is being seduced by the sounds of the bandoneon, her feelings of attraction, fear and longing are expressed by combining gestures of modern dance and tango movements.

A playful nod to tango’s glory days in European salons of the early 20th century. I loved vamping and frolicking with all the ladies.

"Ladies in Waiting" with Carolina, Chelsea & Pier

Presented at City College of San Francisco in November 2013, celebrating Tango Con* Fusión's 10th anniversary.
A humorous depiction of the typical Milonga situation where women are desperately trying to get asked to dance. I enjoyed externalizing and exaggerating what's on women's minds. I loved performing Ladies in Waiting with Pier and Chelsea, they made it extra fun.

"El Chamuyo" with Carolina, Pier, Christy & Debbie in Berlin 2018

It was super fun to adapt an already existing duet that makes fun of the "stereotypical tango macho" into a quartet. We presented it at the Queer Tango Festival in Berlin 2018. I enjoyed very much performing it with Debbie, Christy and Pier. We were totally in character and over the top at times!

The crowd loved us and invited us back in 2019 to be the featured performers of the festival.
