Carolina Rozensztroch is a passionate Tango dancer and teacher with a strong background in modern dance, jazz and ballet. Originally from Argentina, she studied Tango with prominent teachers and nurtured her style of dancing at the Buenos Aires Milongas.
Carolina continued to study, teach and perform Modern Dance and Tango in New York. She established and taught Argentine Tango classes at FIT’s recreation department (State University of New York), where she also earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In addition, Carolina created a Tango Space at the Aurora Studios where she taught students from around the world.
Since her move to San Francisco in 2006 Carolina co-established the weekly Milonga “La Cumparsita” where she taught a comprehensive Tango program for almost a decade. She also promoted Argentine culture by hosting and organizing visiting maestros as well as Tango musicians at her Milonga. In addition, since 2006, Carolina has been a member of the ground-breaking all-female company Tango Con*Fusión. With the company, she taught and performed at prestigious venues in Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Berlin, Chicago and broadly in the San Francisco Bay Area. Carolina also taught a tango program with Gary Weinberg for seven years until the pandemic hit. During the pandemic, she continued to engage with her students in classes over Zoom, teaching tango conditioning, technique and musicality. In addition, since 2017, Carolina has been teaching regularly with Christy Cote and hosting a weekly Práctica at La Pista Tango School. Carolina has a gift for sharing her passion and vast knowledge with her students in group settings as well as in private lessons at her home studio in San Francisco.
